Sea of Cortez

The Sea of Cortez is located in the north part of Mexico between Baja California and the states of Sonora and Sinaloa. This is thought to be one of the most diverse seas on the planet, parts of the Gulf of California are a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The narrow sea is home to a unique and rich ecosystem, in addition to a wide range of endemic creatures, and it hosts many migratory species like whales and more than 5,000 species of micro-invertebrates.
